Horisont

Horisont is a choreography for two dancers and an open horizon. The duet was inspired by cloud formations soaring across the sky, waves breaking in open seas, and the poetic idea of a dance taking shape in a space in-between the waves and the skies.

Two dancers weave and wave their way through the choreography. Gentle sways lead them through a series of looping motions and patterns, in a medidative state of togetherness.

The dance is accompanied by a poetic and almost ethereal soundscape, in an amalgamation of ambient music, an organ, and orchestral instruments. The dance is not intended to get anywhere, but is an invitation to notice the surroundings, and observe how the choreography unfolds, one movement at a time.

Altogether, the work invites audiences to lean into a slower sense of time, noticing the subtlety of the dancers’ weight shifts, the wind sweeping past them, clouds dancing along in the sky, and the way the music melts into the surroundings.
